Description: A
set of tests based on analytical models of building heat transfer that can be
systematically applied to whole building energy analysis programs has being
developed. This is part of ASHRAE's effort to enable software developers and
users to be able to "validate" and "verify" such energy
analysis codes. The heat transfer mechanisms to be included in the analytical
tests include: conduction through walls, interior and exterior convection, solar
gain at opaque and glazed surfaces, solar shading and internal radiant and
convective gains. (Project duration 1/1999-6/2000).
